About the Range

Chobham Ridge is a picturesque ex-MOD anti-tank range, possessing multiple steel targets stretching from 200yrds to an impressive 1100yrds plus. 

With scenic rural views including the famous Wembley Arches, Chobham Ridge is certainly considered a must-do shooting experience, and is highly spoken about by members and clubs. 

The range includes a hospitality room and range building, providing shelter and tea/coffee making facilities.

Firearms Permitted 

Rifle, Gallery Rifles 

  • Maximum Calibre: .308/7.62
  • Maximum Muzzle Velocity: 1000 m/s (3280 ft/s) 
  • Maximum Muzzle Energy: 4500 J (3319 ft/lb)

No other firearms, ammunition or pyrotechnics are permitted.

  • Tracer ammunition is not permitted.

Special Requirements

  • All Chobham Ridge bookings will be supervised by an NRA appointed RO, the cost of which is included in the range hire charge. 
  • Use of both firing points simultaneously requires approval from the Range Office and is to be notified at the time of the booking; additional RO fees apply
  • A maximum of 8 shooters overall is permitted when one RO is appointed, With the additional RO as stated above, this may increase to 12 shooters. Spectators are not permitted.

Range Brief 

  • Attendees are to meet at The Pavilion, Bisley Camp at 08:30 for a range brief carried out by NRA staff. This varies for member days (please see here)
  • You will be provided by a direction pack, due to the entrance of Chobham Ridge being external to Bisley Camp.
  • Please note than when you are inside the range complex, the gates will be locked and secured until the end of the day. There is no free access.

Member Days

  • Not sure about booking a full day at Chobham? You can also book onto our Chobham Ridge Member Day, for a chance to experience half a day in the range at a lower price, and under the supervision of an experienced NRA Range Officer.
  • Limited to 6 shooters per session, and covers one person per booking.

Facilities 

Parking: 

  • There is a car park conveniently situated next to the firing point for ease with equipment transport

Toilets:

  • There is an accessible toilet near the firing point

Additional facilities: 

  • Two firing points, both with covered sheltered areas. Firing point one includes a cabin to the rear of the firing point, and a decking platform on the actual firing point
  • Range building for shelter and warmth, and for storage and tea/coffee facilities

Targetry

Multiple steel targets set out in the danger area at varying distances

Firing point 1: 19 steel targets up to 1132m (click here for range map)

  • Tgt 17 has a light hit indicator

Firing point 2: 11 steel targets up to 300m (click here for range map)

ShotMarker electronic targets at a distance of 150yrds to assist with zeroing. 

Please be aware targets can get damaged and therefore numbers may vary on the day, the RO will brief all shooters.

  • Full day with one NRA appointed RO is £645.00
  • Additional NRA RO (see info above) is £132.00

Range Hire Costs as of 30th March 2025 (2025 High Season Charges):  

  • Full day with one NRA appointed RO is £677.50

How to Book 

Select the range as 'Chobham Ridge'.

Select the number of lanes as one. The timing will be 'All Day'. 

Please note that when you submit a booking request for Chobham Ridge, before approving it, we will have to arrange for an NRA RO to be allocated to that specific date.
